Much of Julie's work is produced to commission; each piece is unique and reflects the tastes, furnishings and design input of the client.
Julie frequently embellishes her pieces with materials such as plaster, silk, thread, leather, beads, gold leaf, muslin, straw, herbs and leaves.
The embellishments are often stitched on, for an enduring effect.
Each of these effects is worked out in one of Julie's sketchbooks before being applied to the final piece.

Julie’s latest collection is inspired by natural form in particular flowers, fruit and vegetables. The subjects portrayed are further enhanced by using natural materials such as straw, grasses, leaves and dried herbs.
